Quit yer wishin'...

This post is to remind new parents not to wish too hard.  Kimberly and I were thinking all along that Adeline would walk before she crawled.  Well, that didn't happen because after she started crawling she didn't care much for the painful falls that occured when trying to walk.  Over about the past two weeks Adeline has really started walking everywhere and if she isn't walking......she's running.  If this little girl isn't running......she's probably climbing.  Here are a few of her latest exploits.

This is a picture shortly after she conquered her first "Everest".  I believe that she climbed up this stool to get closer to Dora.

We call this "the showoff" pose.  Shortly after this one she went ahead with the "look ma', no hands" pose.

Here is a video of her shortly after I taught her how to climb into the recliner.  What a bad idea.

Trip to the Zoo

We took Adeline to the Columbus Zoo for the first time a few weeks ago on possibly one of the hottest days of the summer. She was quite the trooper though. She loved every minute of it and we plan to go back soon. Here are a few pics from our day.

Our little 1 year old!

That's right.....ONE YEAR OLD!!!!!  Wow, the past year has gone by pretty quickly and the little lady is just growing up so fast these days.  Every day she starts doing something new.  It is really incredible.
Quite naturally Kimberly has taken on the role of mothering beautifully.  She is the best mother in the world and Adeline is really very lucky that she isn't stuck with me only.  She would probably be an unbathed, unfed child with dirty britches.  She would know how to have fun though.  That's kinda what I'm here for, we have fun together.  I suppose you are all wondering where all the birthday party pics are, well, I'm about to quit rambling on so you can check out how awesome it was.
The morning of the big day.  She is constantly reminding us how old she is.
Happy Bird-day little lady!

Erin Allsop of "The Cake Kitchen" did a wonderful job on the baby cake.
A little timid at first.  I was kinda thinking that she was going to take after me on this one and just nibble at the yummy desert because she is so body conscious.
Then she proved me wrong.
I think that it was the Dora wrapping paper she was so happy about.  Either that or the card I guess...
She was probably making a high-pitched squeal here to show Elliott how to really enjoy a Radio Flyer.  Thanks Nanny and Papaw!
Then a water balloon fight broke out and some crazy old man who most likely escaped from a mental institution a short time ago (Kimberly's grandpa) began harassing all the little ones by bombing them with balloons while screaming "Boom goes the dynamite!!!"  Strange.
The fam.
I am one lucky fella with two beautiful women.
